My Little Dancer

Yesterday was Dance picture day for the Dance Academy in Consort.  This is Kiera's first year of dance and she loves it so much.  Shawna and I took Kiera and Danica over at the studio before we took them into town for their other pictures.  We are both wanting to do a keepsake book of their first year of dance so we needed quite a few pictures.
This is a collage of Danica, I just love this series of images I captured while she was giggling! Too cute...

Now here are a couple of Kiera, she spotted the flowers as soon as we arrived at the studio. They went so well with her outfit (and she insisted on having them in her picture). Less than 2 weeks and these little dancers will be performing on the stage for the first time, I don't know who is more excited...them or the moms!

Girls in Tutus

These are some of my favorite images from my Tutus for Girls mini sessions this past Tuesday.  I had 8 little girls and they were all very cooperative and loved having their pictures taken.
I had Jeri from "Pretty Baby" make me some tutus in a variety of colors and she also supplied the handmade flowers and barrettes. (You can find Pretty Baby on Facebook)   Each mom got to choose the color of tutu and a matching headband and flower.  The complete outfit was adorable.
At the end of each session the mom's were able sit down with Shawna to view and choose their favorites for their 8x10 collage as well as a complimentary Pretty Baby hair accessory.
$10 from each session was also donated to Shanna Bishell and Sophie Robinson for The Ride to Conquer Cancer.  Shanna was also there to help with the little munchkins.  Thanks Shanna, your help was appreciated!
A special thank you to all the little princesses and their mommies for having me photograph them on Tuesday it was tons of fun!!!

A Fun Filled Afternoon!

This afternoon my assistant, Shawna met me at the studio to set up for the Tutus for Girls, Boys in Crates Session tomorrow.  She brought her daughter, Danica who is the same age as my youngest daughter, Kiera.
We decided to let the little girls have some fun and dress up in the tutus.  So of course we had to take some pictures!
I started by taking a few of Danica...

I set my camera down for a minute to get something and this is what I came back to...

It was just too cute for words! Thank goodness I had my back up camera with me and was able to capture this moment that I can't wait to share with these girls again when they are grown up.  Now I have to post one of the images through the eyes of Kiera...

After I retrieved my camera from my 4 year old,  I was able to take a few more of Danica.  Here are some of my favorites...

Then I took some of Kiera, before you see them you must know that she pretty much posed herself and the expressions on her face were all her, she knows how to work the camera ( gee, I wonder why? It's like she gets her picture taken all the time or something) and they say the youngest child of the family has the fewest pictures, well not in this family!  A year and a half til she is in school full time so we still have a lot of "Mommy and Me" days ahead!

Well since Kiera got to take picture of Danica,  Danica wanted to take some of Kiera...

And this is what was captured through the eyes of Danica...

As you can see we had tons of fun and so did our little rock stars.
Tomorrow I have 9 little ones that will be dancing around the studio in tutus.  Stay tuned...

After a couple of weeks with no new posts I thought I'd share one of the projects I've been working on.  I'm off to a dance festival on Red Deer with Cassidy for a few days and very much looking forward to the Tutus for Girls, Boys in Crates session next Tuesday.

Round two

We just couldn't let baby B get away with not cooperating last night... so I loaded up my gear and while Kiera was at dance I had Cassidy and Connor assisting me.  When I got to her house, mommy had the heat turned up so it was nice and toasty warm and Grandma had baby B snuggled fast asleep.  Of course once mommy started to dress her she woke up.  But she was content and I managed to get a few good images.
These are 2 of my favorites!
