A precious gift

This little sweetheart brought her parents for her first photo session at 1 month old.  She was very cooperative until we wanted her to go to sleep.  Mom tried for an hour but baby must have been worried she was going to miss something!
Mom's an Oilers fan and Dad's a Flames fan.  Mom thought it was quite humorous when we put the Flames jersey on baby she screamed but when we put the Oilers jersey over her she was very content.  I'm thinking Dad is outnumbered in more ways than one in that household!

Dysen turns 1

Wow, it's hard to believe he's already one year old!  He first came to visit me when he was just 6 days old and has been back every 3 months for the past year.  He's a very happy and photogenic little guy and I'll miss his visits.  This last session was especially fun because I had Shawna (my assistant) bake a cake and we let Dysen get right into it.  He had a blast playing... and eating as you can tell!

Bobbi & Chris

This was a wedding I photographed a few weeks ago.  It turned out to be a beautiful day for the beginning of March.  So far we have lucked out with the weather the past couple of years with winter weddings....I probably shouldn't have said that out loud...
Before the session ended I had the bride and groom, maid of honor and bestman standing in the snow doing the jump in the air pose.  The bride had flip flops on, so her and the maid of honor kicked off their shoes and jumped a few times, needless to say they landed bare foot in the snow!  Despite the chilly toes, they were still laughing.  Yet again I must thank my clients for "playing along" with me and even though they think I'm crazy half the time they do what I ask and the pictures speak for themselves in the end!

Well we started in the studio and did manage to venture outside for a few minutes. Luckily, the cold wind didn't stop us from having some fun! What a great start to the grad season!

Sunday session with Cassidy and Connor

Since I took Kiera out earlier this month and got some unique images I have been wanting to get my other 2 kiddos out and do the same before I get too busy. It did take some convincing but I managed to get them out for long enough to get a few shots. Kiera tagged along and made goofy faces trying to make them laugh. Connor (who is less than a week away from his 7th birthday!) has a smile that is so adorable even though his eyes are so squinty and Cassidy, after 8 years of practice has the poses and facial expressions down pat.

I'm looking forward to photographing a graduate tomorrow afternoon, Connor's birthday celebration on Saturday, some family photos on Sunday and Dysen's 1st birthday next Tuesday (he's been back to visit me every 3 months since he was 6 days old and we're going to celebrate with some cake !)

Creating hockey memories

Last night these two brothers came to the studio after hockey practice. The season's almost over and their mom brought them to have some pictures done with my new sports locker. (Which I should say was made by my husband and a friend of ours, thank you!) The boys were great sports and I think they actually enjoyed themselves! (or at least they pretended to!)

Fun in the sun (and wind!)

With the weather so warm this afternoon Kiera agreed to let me photograph her just being herself, a girly girl wearing a frilly skirt and her cowgirl boots. Miles the cat decided to join in on the fun as well.

New blog!

I had the pleasure of photographing these 3 supermodels last Sunday. The twins and their cousin were more than willing to pose with Grandpa's truly unique antique truck! Look out for these three in 10 years!
